Your data, your phone, your iCloud.
The short version
PitCrewAI runs on your iPhone. The data it generates — vehicle diagnostics, trip logs, fault history, crash events — stays in your own iCloud account, which we do not have access to. We do not sell your data. We do not embed third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The subscription fee is our business model.
What we collect
Data stored on your device and in your iCloud
The app stores the following information locally and syncs it through your personal iCloud account:
- Vehicle identification data (VIN, make, model, year) you enter or that's read from your OBD-II port
- Live engine telemetry (RPM, speed, coolant temp, throttle, fuel trim, etc.) recorded during your trips
- Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and the AI-generated explanations of them
- Trip logs (start/end time, route distance, basic location coordinates)
- Crash detection events and your responses to them
This data is stored in your private iCloud database. AppProved Software cannot read it.
Data we receive directly
The only information AppProved Software directly receives from you is:
- Email correspondence you initiate (support requests, feedback)
- App Store purchase and subscription metadata provided by Apple
- Crash reports and basic performance diagnostics, anonymized and aggregated, sent through Apple's standard developer tools (you can opt out in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements)
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data — not to insurers, not to advertisers, not to data brokers
- We do not embed third-party SDKs that track you across other apps or websites
- We do not run ad networks inside the app
- We do not access your iCloud-stored vehicle data, ever
Location data
PitCrewAI uses iPhone location to log trip routes and to attach a location to crash events. Location data is stored in your private iCloud database alongside the rest of your vehicle data. You can disable location access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → PitCrewAI; the app will still function but trip routing and crash event location tagging will be disabled.
Bluetooth
PitCrewAI requires Bluetooth access to communicate with your OBD-II dongle. This is a direct device-to-device connection. No vehicle data passes through AppProved Software's servers.
Children's privacy
PitCrewAI is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email privacy@appprovedsoftware.com and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Because your data lives in your own iCloud account, you control it directly. To delete everything: uninstall the app and, if you wish, delete the PitCrewAI data from your iCloud account in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. To export your data: the app provides an export option under Settings → Data & Privacy.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy, we will notify you in the app and post the updated policy here with a new "Last updated" date.
